University Accreditation

Washington University in St. Louis has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a Commission of the North Central Association (NCA) since 1913.

Accreditation ensures Washington University’s compliance with all rules and requirements issued by the HLC/NCA concerning changes of and additions to Washington University’s academic programs.

In September 2014, Washington University underwent our 10-year on-site evaluation visit by a team of trained peer reviewers assigned by the HLC.
