About WUSTL

Technology

Information technology enhances the mission of Washington University in St. Louis. Faculty supplement classroom time with online video and research, virtual discussion groups and interactive one-on-one electronic communications with students.

Students have access to a robust collection of Web-based communication tools and workspaces that enable dynamic connections between students and faculty.

Students, faculty and staff move easily across campuses with wireless voice and data services. Many computing services, like printing, e-mail and specialized software programs, may be available from any place on the network. Computing labs provide spaces to gather, connect and work together.

High-performance computing and networking enable data-intensive research. Research computing centers on both Danforth and Medical campuses provide foundations that support multiple research teams and help to attract new research opportunities. Electronic medical records, clinical support systems, and technology collaborations with BJC HealthCare enhance patient care across the partnership's hospitals and clinics.

Major regional cellular carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular) serve the Danforth Campus and residential life housing spaces.
