The Kelly Baseball Field is where the Washington University baseball team practices and plays its home games. Located on the north part of the South 40, students can often hear music coming from the field on game days and see practices as they walk by.
The field was dedicated in memory of Leo Kelly, the head baseball coach for Washington University from 1969 to 1981. Typically refered to as "Coach", he was a man who lived for baseball, he read books, watched the St. Louis Cardinals, and coached the team.
"Coach was the type you started out hating and ended up loving."
