Construction and Demolition Waste

Construction and demolition (C&D) waste is the material generated during the construction, renovation and demolition of structures. This type of waste is typically large, bulky and heavy, and may contain building materials such as concrete and wood, as well as metal and glass. Efforts to divert C&D waste from landfills involves reuse and recycling.
