There are many variations on efficient ventilation systems, but one example is a heat recovery system, which has been incorporated to many laboratory buildings. This system captures and reuses heat from building exhaust instead of releasing the heat into the atmosphere. During the winter, the system preheats the outside ventilation air. During the summer, the air is pre-cooled, saving energy in cooling and heating costs.
