Waste stream audit

A waste stream audit is a tool used to quantify the amount and type of waste generated by a particular business, family or individual. A waste stream audit is conducted by determining the composition of the waste stream to determine what materials are current being disposed of. The weight and volume of the waste should be determined, as well as the sources of the waste. The collection systems used and the costs for waste removal and related functions should also be included in the waste audit.
